This year for American Thanksgiving, we decided to show our gratitude to the many friends that we have grown to love in this big City. In years past, we have usually been out of town for Thanksgiving - at our annual missionary retreat. We were thankful to be able to be here this year and wanted to invite the many people who have touched our lives here in Mexico over the years. The men took care of their traditional turduken (chicken stuffed inside a duck which is stuffed inside a turkey! a ton of work but sooo sooo tasty!)- and made two this year. We believe that we served between 60 and 70 people throughout that night. Many of the other American friends brought their favorite traditional dishes and we had plenty of food to go around. Our Mexican friends seemed to enjoy it all!
And, of course, we were more than thankful to be able to have family with us this year. Benjy's Mom, Mary Beth, and his brother Burke and girlfriend - and our friend - Stacey - were able to join us to celebrate both the arrival of Hudson as well as Thanksgiving. And, my Mom was also still with us. We had a really fun week all of us together - playing games, entertaining the many small children in this household, cooking and just hanging out.
And, of course, I am clearly so very very thankful for my four boys and the good man beside me!
